ClipDeck privacy policy
ClipDeck keeps your clipboard on your PC. We do not have a copy.
Last updated 28 October 2026
The short version
- Your clipboard history is stored locally on your PC.
- There is no ClipDeck-hosted clipboard database. We run no server that your clips pass through.
- Cloud sync is optional, and when it is on it uses a folder inside your own OneDrive — your Microsoft account, not ours.
- Images and copied file paths are never synced. They stay on the machine that copied them.
- You choose how long clips are kept, and you can clear them whenever you like.
What ClipDeck stores
ClipDeck records what you copy so you can get it back: text, links, code, colours, images and copied file paths, along with anything you have pinned and the pinboards you have made. All of it is written to local storage on your PC.
How long it is kept is your decision. Settings → History offers a retention window from one day to forever, and a Clear all clips button that empties the history on demand. Clips you have favourited are kept until you delete them, so the automatic cleanup cannot take them.
Cloud sync, if you turn it on
Sync is off until you switch it on. When you do, ClipDeck writes to a folder inside your own OneDrive — by default under OneDrive\Apps\ClipDeck, or anywhere else you point it. That folder belongs to your Microsoft account. We cannot see it, and nothing is routed through a service of ours on the way.
What syncs: text, links, code, colours, favourites and pinboards, plus the order you have pinned them in.
What does not: images and copied file paths. These remain local to the PC that copied them, by design — they are the clips most likely to be large or to point at something private on that specific machine.
Turning sync off, or using Remove cloud data, clears what ClipDeck has written to that folder. Clearing your history while sync is on also removes the synced text clips from it.
What we receive
Nothing automatically. We have no account system, and ClipDeck does not ask you to create one. If you email support, we have whatever you chose to put in that email, and we use it to answer you and for nothing else.
Your purchase is handled by the Microsoft Store. Microsoft takes the payment and tells us nothing that identifies you — we see sales, not customers.
Children
ClipDeck is a utility rated for everyone, and it is not directed at children. It does not ask for a name, an age or an email address.
Changes, and how to reach us
If ClipDeck’s behaviour changes, this page changes with it and the date above updates. Questions about any of it go to support@mwds.digital.
