Just Invoice privacy policy

Before you read this

Just Invoice is still in development and has not been released. This policy is published ahead of the App Store listing so the link is live at launch, and it describes how the app behaves in the version we intend to ship. If anything changes before release, this page changes with it and the date above updates.

The short version

Just Invoice has no accounts on our side, no servers of ours, and no analytics. Your business details, customers, invoices, expenses and income are written to your device. If you turn on iCloud sync they are also written to your own private iCloud Drive, which belongs to your Apple Account and which we cannot read. We never receive any of it.

What stays on your device

• Your business profile, including your name, address, contact number, tax registration and logo.
• Your customers, including their addresses, contact details, email addresses and tax registrations.
• Your invoices, products and services, expenses, income and payment records.
• Your settings, including your invoice numbering and template choices.

This is stored in the app's own storage on the device. Deleting the app deletes it, so export a copy first if you want to keep it.

iCloud sync, if you turn it on

Sync is off until you switch it on. When you do, the same data is written into a container in your own iCloud Drive, under your Apple Account. Apple handles the storage and transfer; their terms apply to it. It is not shared with us and we have no way to reach it. Turning sync off stops further writes and leaves both copies where they are.

Sign in with Apple

Signing in is optional and the app is fully usable without it. It exists so iCloud sync has an account to attach to. When you do sign in, the app stores the identifier Apple gives it on your device and nothing else — it is not sent anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to go. You can sign out at any time from Settings, which turns sync off and deletes nothing.

The one thing that leaves your device

If you switch on multi-currency and ask for an exchange rate, Just Invoice requests it from the public Frankfurter API. That request contains two currency codes and a date. It does not contain your invoice, your customer, your business or anything identifying you. If you never use multi-currency, the app makes no network requests of its own at all.

Photos

Adding a business logo opens Apple's photo picker. The picker runs outside the app and hands back only the single image you choose, so Just Invoice never gets access to your photo library. The image you pick is stored on your device and appears on your invoices.

Notifications

Reminders for invoices falling due and retainers coming up for renewal are scheduled on your device by the app itself. They are not push notifications, nothing is sent from a server, and declining them costs you nothing else in the app.

Purchases

The Pro and Lifetime upgrades are handled by Apple's App Store. Apple tells the app whether a purchase is active; we never see your payment details, and we do not receive your name or email address from the purchase.

What we do not do

• No analytics, telemetry or crash reporting of our own.
• No advertising and no ad identifiers.
• No tracking across apps or websites, and no data sold or shared with data brokers.
• No third-party SDKs collecting anything.

Children

Just Invoice is a tool for running a business and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Because we hold none of your data, there is nothing for us to hand over or delete on request. Your copy is yours: export it from Settings at any time, and delete it by deleting the app or, for the iCloud copy, by removing the app's data from iCloud in your device settings.

Changes

If this policy changes, this page changes and the date at the top updates. Material changes will be called out in the app's release notes.
