ClipStack support
How to get ClipStack working, what to do when it isn't, and how to reach a person.

ClipStack has not launched yet
ClipStack is still in development and is not on the App Store, so if you are here looking for a download, there is not one yet. This page is published ahead of the release so the support link works from the moment the app appears. Everything below describes how ClipStack behaves at launch.

Email support@mwds.digital. We answer within two working days, usually sooner. Telling us your macOS or iOS version and what you were doing at the time will nearly always save a round trip.
The ⇧⌘V panel does not appear
- Check ClipStack is running — it lives in the menu bar and has no Dock icon, so it is easy to assume it has quit when it has not.
- Another app may have claimed the same shortcut. ⇧⌘V is "Paste and Match Style" in many apps; while ClipStack is running it takes priority, but a third app with a global hotkey can win over both.
Clips paste as a copy instead of going into the app
Direct paste needs Accessibility permission, because putting keystrokes into another app is a privileged action on macOS. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and switch ClipStack on. Without it ClipStack still works — it copies the clip and you paste it yourself with ⌘V.
The iPhone or iPad app is missing recent clips
This is an iOS restriction rather than a bug. iOS does not allow any app to read the clipboard in the background, so ClipStack imports what you have copied when you open it. Open the app and the clip appears.
The keyboard shows an empty list
The ClipStack keyboard needs "Allow Full Access" to read the shared history — that is what lets the keyboard and the app see the same data on your device. Go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → ClipStack and turn Allow Full Access on. ClipStack's keyboard sends nothing anywhere; it has no network code in it at all.
Sync is not picking up my other device
- Both devices need to be signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive on.
- Sync has to be enabled in ClipStack's settings on both.
- Files are deliberately not synced. A file clip is a location on one machine, and that location means nothing on another, so ClipStack syncs text, links, images and colours only.
Purchases, restoring and refunds
- ClipStack Pro is one purchase across Mac, iPhone and iPad. On a new device, open settings and choose Restore Purchases.
- Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account, not by us: Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iPhone or iPad, or App Store → Account → Subscriptions on a Mac.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, since Apple takes the payment. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Removing your data
Clearing your history in the app removes it from the device, and from iCloud if sync is on. Signing out of Sign in with Apple removes the only thing ClipStack keeps about you — your Apple identifier and display name, both stored on the device. There is no account on our side to close, because we never created one. See the privacy policy for the specifics.
